So, the first entry. Gosh. How exciting. However, I've been nagged by uitlander to make some sort of effort so here goes:

Stuff of note that happened today:

Very little. My life really is just that exciting.

De-wormed venta again. Dunno how she managed that after I'd thought I'd fixed it yesterday, but there we go. At least I'm fairly confident it's sorted now since I haven't been harassed so far this evening...

Still, at least she seems to know what forms of bribery work. :) Whether this is pure innate ability, or just good training I've yet to discover. Since the old Jedi mind-tricks don't seem to be working I'll note that beer works equally as well... Still, it's lunch-at-pub day tomorrow...

SWSBO had invited relatives over for the ritual burning of dead animal products, so that happened. Pyromania was limited to but 1 medium BBQ, 1 small pile of wood (and dead ivy) in the big pottery chimney thing, and 2 small flaming torches once the sun went down. It's remarkably civilised down by the river of an evening - must do it more often, especially now the horrors have had all their jabs and can be allowed out. That's allowed, not 'comebackhereyoulittlebastardyou'renotsupposedtobeoutside' like the past few weeks have been. All of the horrors have discovered the delights of tree-climbing. Joy. Still, at least they seem to handle coming down again. Eventually. The cat-poking stick (for poking cats with, obviously) has had some use in 'encouraging' them groundwards. They have fallen for me rattling the box of matches though. Heh.

Our guests seemed to like the food despite it being a last minute affair. And they brought over a spare replacement tumbledryer 'cos the existing one had the last rites read to it on Monday by the very nice tumbledryer-and-other-electrical-appliances-repairman who didn't charge a penny for his visit. Which reminds me - I must make nice comments about him in the appropriate places. So I can't really complain too much. Scary discussions about the-big-event-in May also happened, mostly revolving around guestlists and intra-familial poly-ticks. A line has been drawn - nuff said.

Chased the plumber again today (new bathroom is supposed to be imminent, pending him getting back to us with a date to actually come and fit it), but haven't heard anything as yet. I'll leave that to the weekend and harass him again then. At least he's got email access which makes things somewhat easier to deal with.

Other than the normal morning harassment by die Katzen they've actually (seemingly) been fairly well-behaved today. (edit - just had to delete a whole bunch of stuff due to the conjunction of cat and keyboard - scratch what I just said...) The whinging weaselcat [1] decided that my feet were an appropriate thing to be biting thia morning. That's all well and good, but I could almost certainly do without it first thing.

[1] There are three kittens, all approx 4 months old. Photos at some point when I (a) get round to cropping them down and (b) figure out the uploading stuff. I appear to be owned by (a) a small, evil (but has mastered the art of looking innocent because she knows she's the cutest looking of the three) black and white horror - Splodge, (b) a whiny tortoiseshell who we're convinced is part Siamese and part weasel - Sifa, and (c) a tabby tom who generally isn't too unruly or troublesome - Finn. Sifa and Finn have the ame mother - I hesitate to say they're brother and sister, given cat family trees - they're most likely second cousins twice removed or something. Splodge comes from Finn and Sifa's mother's daughter's litter, and is about ten days younger than this pair, but more than makes up for being the smallest of the trio. Farm moggies by breeding, but that's fine by me.

Three because one would get lonely, with two there would be a swift determination of the dominant cat, but three allows for a fairly dynamic arrangement. Or at least, that was my reckoning. SWSBO needed persuasion that we needed three but seems to have accepted her fate now. Means I can now start on the next thing...

Right, time for bed. Or at least a late-evening scouring of the dross on TV before heading for bed.

Picture and other stuff to come later. It's the mostly square tuits that do it, y'know.
